Rosemary Essential Oil
Rosemary Oil has been used for centuries as a hair growth aid. It has been used by many different cultures. Rosemary Oil is distilled from the leaves of rosemary herb. Most people find the minty aroma very pleasant and calming. Rosemary oil contains great proprieties. Julia Lawless lists those properties as stimulating, tonic, restorative, antiseptic, carminative, digestive, analgesic, antioxidant, antimicrobial and astringent. In the Mediterranean countries, they have been using Rosemary Essential Oil for centuries; they often use it as a leave in conditioner.
How Rosemary Essential Oil Works
Rosemary Essential Oil stimulates cell division and dilates blood vessels and, thus, stimulates hair follicles into producing stronger, longer, faster growing hair. It is also thought to prevent the graying and thinning process from menopause, as well as reduce dandruff and nourish the scalp.
How to Use Rosemary Essential Oil
Rosemary Essential Oil can be added to shampoos, deep conditioners, leave in conditioners and scalp oils. Just a few drops will do.
Hot Oil Treatment
Combining the conditioning, nourishing and moisturizing properties of Olive Oil with the stimulating effect of Rosemary Oil, will not only stimulate hair growth but it will soften your locks and keep them moisturized longer which will help with length retention
- 3 tablespoons of EVOO
- 5 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil
Put oils in applicator bottle. Place the bottle in freshly boiled water until oil is warm. Apply all over hair and scalp. Place a shower cap over your hair. Let the treatment set for 30-45 minutes and rinse thoroughly with cold water. The warmth and the rosemary together will increase circulation to the scalp.
Rosemary Essential Oil is an essential and should be diluted with a carrier oil (coconut, olive, jojoba oil).
A few drops of this oil is all you will need to achieve longer, faster growing hair.
